Goo day,

The DGAC will be present at all Airports Of Entry (AOE) during normal operating hours, including weekends. Immigration and Customs are also present at the same time. Please note that hours of operations for General Aviation (GA) is not always the same as for airlines. For example, although airline flights may arrive up until 10:00 pm at an AOE, the hours of operations for GA may only be until 7:00 pm. The buildings and staff at for GA may be different than those for commercial aviation so make sure that you know the hours for GA.

As far as fees are concerned, General Aviation aircraft by law are exempt from paying a special service fee to immigration on the weekends. However, there are a number of airports that flagrantly charge GA flights anyway. Puerto Vallarta, Veracruz, Campeche, Cancun are examples of airports which charge these fees to GA flights. Our recommendation is to either fly during the week or avoid them altogether for any international operations.

Airports like San Felipe and Loreto continue to be GA friendly and you should not have any issues with these airports.

Hope this helps
