The Mexican customs staff at the Villahermosa airport has implemented their own unique procedure for international departures that is different from any other airport which not only exceeds their legal authority but also causes unnecessary delays and paperwork. For the time being we DO NOT RECOMMEND the Villahermosa airport (MMVA) for international departures. We are working with the DGAC comandante at this airport to begin legal proceedings against the local customs staff to get this issue corrected.

Villahermosa CANNOT be used for international arrivals from Central America, South America or anywhere in the Bahamas, Caribbean, arrivals from these areas must make their first landing at Tapachula (MMTP) or Cozumel (MMCZ).
