With the entry of the new government in Panama, the aeronautical authority of Panama has begun implementing changes to requirements for foreign aircraft visiting Panama. The latest change is a review of insurance policies of aircraft that wish to operate in the country with the following points being emphasized:

Geographic Coverage: Panama must be specifically included in the policy.
Crew Clause: The policy must clearly indicate that the crew is covered and that it complies with the required flight hours according to the type of license presented.

Verification of these points will be carried out during the landing permit application process and again upon arrival of the aircraft. It is strongly recommended that you keep the printed policy on board the aircraft at all times. Check with your handler or FBO ahead of time to find out how your specific documents will be interpreted by the authorities to avoid any potential issues.
