Hello Darrell, planning a flight to Ecuador on your own can be somewhat complex. Colombia poses a real challenge for fuel availability as you point out. In fact, it is extremely difficult for short range aircraft, like some small helicopters, to make it past Colombia due to fuel availability and customs availability.
