Unfortunately, we had to postpone our World Heritage Cities & The Panama Canal Guided Expedition to Panama due to the COVID wave currently raging in the USA, Mexico and Central America. We believe that this was the best decision in order to avoid unplanned disruptions to the travel schedule due to the COVID testing requirements to travel from country to country and the risk of an unexpected POSITIVE test result from any participant which would create schedule disruptions. Also, the limited hospital care facilities and the saturation of these facilities due to the current wave also make us extremely concerned. We hope that by the end of the year, we will be facing a very different landscape with respect to the COVID pandemic. We have reviewed the calendar for 2022 and the constraints which are: - Thanksgiving this year is November 24th, 2022 and we will plan to avoid departures and arrivals during that week as it gets pretty busy.
- We need 11 days and 10 nights to complete the trip
- We need to depart Guatemala on a Saturday. This is the best day of the week to avoid ground traffic returning to the airport in Guatemala City as well as airport traffic which is lowest on Saturdays.
- Hurricane season ends on November 30. Most hurricanes and storms typically occur during the months of September and October. While very rare, we could have a risk of a hurricane in November.
With these constraints we contacted all of the hotels to check availability and the only possible dates with adequate availability of rooms are only in December. These options are: - December 03-13, 2022
- December 10-20, 2022
We will keep you all informed once we have a definite date.
If you are interested and have a specific preference, please let us know!
