Over the last 14 months we have experienced ramp checks in Guatemala City by Guatemalan and USA authorities. The checks were non-events, they want to make sure that the aircraft are not stolen and are being operated legally. No issue there.
Everyone was pleasant and professional. However, the inspections did cause some delays. Do not be surprised if you are subjected to a thorough inspection of aircraft and documents when operating in MGGT.
