Hi,

I have a trip next week in a Citation 525 to Monterrey. I fly in Mexico often, and typically do not use handlers. I did notice that there are 2 airports in the area though. Anybody been to either of these recently and recommend one over the other? Passengers have a meeting in town.

Thanks!

Hello,

Yes, we have flown to both airports and have also sent customers to both. Both airports are towered, are international and have ILS approaches.

MMMY This is the airport used by the airlines. There is only one FBO and it charges accordingly. Fuel has no PRIST, you need to bring with you or purchase from the FBO at US$ 30 per can. The fuel is purchased from the government and it is very reasonably priced which can offset the FBO cost differential with MMAN.

MMAN This is a General Aviation only airport and there are multiple FBO's to choose from. The fuel is sold by the airport and can be purchased with PRIST already mixed in. The FBO costs are lower than MMMY but the fuel cost can offset part or all of that savings depending on how much fuel you take on.

It is a tough call to choose one over the other. However,MMAN is our preferred choice because it caters to General Aviation and is well located for getting passengers to the city center of Monterrey.

Let us know if you have any specific questions that we did not answer for you.
